Winter ascents

home > Activities > Winter ascents

The winter weather conditions create completely different scenarios and allow us to practise sports like skiing or ice climbing. In the Picos de Europa and the Cordillera Cantábrica are lots of ice passes where we can experience new sensations. Balance and verticality define a unique experience in which we will enjoy the winter landscape from its best representantive: ice and snow.

Equipment that we will use:

  • Hard boots and gloves
  • Safety harness
  • Crampons and ice axe
  • Rope
  • Helmet
  • Outerwear
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Food and water

Winter ascents:

The different guided winter ascents are grouped into three levels, according to difficulty for better organization. Here are some of the best known. If you are interested in a different route or in a higher difficulty you can contact us here.

We also offer mountaineering courses in order that you can start in this activity (+info)

These ascents do not require previous experience, they are recommended for people who want to learn the sport and make some route in ice or snow.
