Certification of our guides

Mountain Guides professionalization has taken place in recent decades, following the way begun by the Alpine countries, and is regulated by two State Regulations: Real Decreto 318/2000 and Orden ECI/858/2005.

Before you hire a mountain guide it is recommended to ensure that it has appropriate certification and carry out his work with the competence of their degree.

Our mountain guides have the following certifications, with their respective competences:

 

Sports Technician in High Mountain:

-Leading and progressing with individuals or groups in high mountain climbs and  y mountaineering, in the following range:

  • Easy routes at all heights.
  • Little difficult routes up to 4.300 m.
  • Difficult and very difficult routes up to 3.500 m.
  • Difficult and very difficult winter routes up to 3500 m.
  • Rock climbing routes 5+/A1.

-Leading and progressing with individuals or groupons in mountain skis ascents in itineraries up to 3500 m, with a maximum two-days duration and overnight stay in a shelter up to 3500 m. 

-Teaching and basic training of athletes and teams of this sport.

 

Sports Technician in Medium Mountain:

-Leading and progressing with individuals or groups in medium mountain lands.

-Leading and progressing with individuals or groups with snowshoes in snowfield with Nordic characteristics.

-Teaching and basic training of athletes and teams of this sport.

Sports Technician in skiing:

-Technical backcountry skiing or skiing teaching.

 

Sports Technician in climbing:

-Climbing routes all the difficulties on equipped roads with no more than a long.

-Routes of two or more longs fully equipped with 7º high difficulty .

-Routes of two or more long that are no equipped of 6b and a2.

-Teaching and basic training of athletes and teams of this sport.

 

Sports Technician in Canyons:

-Leading and progressing with individuals or groups in mountain terrain and canyoning in canyons with aquatic and vertical characteristics.

-Teaching and basic training of athletes and teams of this sport.

-Organize and schedule canyoning activities. 

 

Guides certification is guaranteed by the AEGM, IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations),  and UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Associations), associations to which the AEGM (Spanish Association of Mountain Guides) belongs and ensure the quality of training and professionalism of all the guides that form.
