These courses are aimed at people who, regardless of age and physical condition, want to learn this sport, or for those who want to improve basic security techniques, progression and backcountry ski descent.
Cross-country skiing is a sport in which the enjoyment goes beyond descend big slopes. The goal is to enjoy the mountain, contemplating the landscape around us and, of course, float on a completely fresh snow on which we must use our best technique and skill.

- Country-Ski equipment* It is not provided. In case not have it you can rent in Potes (40 € / day)
Goals:
- Learning safety techniques in winter mountain that allow us to develop autonomy in ascents with cross country skis.
- Learning the basic techniques of realization of cross countri skiing.
Place: Potes and Picos de Europa surroundings (Liébana Valley)
The course has two levels Level 1 Level 2

Level 1
Duration: 2 days (They may be consecutive or not, at the option of the participants)
Prize:
- 2 person: 150€/person
- 3-4 people: 120€/person
- 5-10 people: 95€/person

–Basic concepts of skiing.
-Basic-concepts of mountain safety.
-Knowledge and use of equipment (seal skins, crampons, ice ax, avalanche transceiver…)
-Techniques progression and backcountry ski descent.
–Theoretical explanation of the basic concepts of skiing.
-Theoretical explanation of mountain safety.
-Theoretical explanation of progression and descent techniques .
-Use the material that we will use (transceiver, shovel, probe, crampons …).
-Putting into practice the knowledge acquired in an ascent.
-Summary end of the journey and collect impressions.
-Revision of the theoretical concepts explained on Day 1 (material use, security, progression techniques …)
-Theoretical explanation about how to interpret the mountain and appropriate choices of itineraries.
-Theoretical explanation about the risks of the mountain and its prevention (avalanches, ice …).
-Putting into practice all the knowledge acquired by a summit ascent more difficult. Emphasis will be placed on safety and technique up and down on cross country skis.
